7.24.06

It's with great sadness and surprise that we recently learned Scott Metzger will no longer be a member of Particle. Last week, Scott received unfortunate news of an unforeseen family emergency that requires his long term attention. The combination of Particle's rigorous touring schedule, west coast rehearsals, and upcoming studio projects make it impossible for Scott to commit to both the band and his east coast family. Health and family always come first to us. Although we will miss him in the band, we respect his decision and wish both him and his family the best.

In the short amount of time Scott has been with us, we developed a meaningful friendship and brotherhood, both musically and personally. We're so thankful to have the Transformations DVD and Live CD to look back on the excitement and joy the five of us shared on stage. Although this was a brief chapter in Particle's history, we had some incredible experiences together. It was a great ride and we have no regrets.

Scott feels the same way and wanted to share some thoughts of his own. Here is a statement from him:

"This was not an easy decision for me to make. I lost sleep numerous nights over this, but have come to the conclusion that this is the best move for me and my family. The last six months have offered great opportunities and experiences that I'll hold dear to my heart for the rest of my life. I want to make it very clear that there is absolutely no ill will between me and the band who I now consider lifelong friends. I wish Particle and their extended family nothing but the best."

We understand that this change may seem like a setback, but amazingly enough this type of thing actually focuses and motivates us more than ever. No shows will be cancelled (if anything, they'll be added!) and we can't wait to get back out there and take the Particle experience to new heights. We are excited to explore the Particle sound as a quartet and only time will tell what additions may or may not come in the future.

From Street Scene and Lollapalooza...the Six Year Anniversary and Halloween...to everything beyond and in between, we'll see you soon.

-Particle
